Exosome therapy is emerging as a revolutionary advancement in aesthetics and regenerative medicine, offering a cutting-edge approach to skin rejuvenation and anti-aging treatments. Exosomes are extracellular vesicles derived from stem cells and play a crucial role in cell communication, tissue repair and regeneration. Their ability to enhance collagen production, improve skin texture and accelerate healing makes them a powerful tool in aesthetic treatments.
exosomes
What are exosomes?
Exosomes are small, lipid bound vesicles secreted by stem cells and other cells in the body. They contain bioactive molecules such as growth factors, proteins, RNA and lipids, which facilitate cellular communication and promote tissue regeneration.
They work by:
-
This leads to firmer more useful looking skin.
-
Exosomes stimulates dormant hair follicles, increasing hair density and improving scalp health. They can be used as an alternative to or in combination with PRP therapy for hair restoration.
-
Exosomes help regulate immune responses, reducing redness and irritation.
-
They enhance skin barrier function and improve overall complexion.
-
Exosomes promote faster recovery following aesthetics procedures such as micro needling and chemical peels.
-
Exosomes have been found to effectively reduce hyperpigmentation, melasma, and acne scars. The growth factors within exosomes promote even skin tone and repair damaged cells, leading to a smoother complexion.
TYPES OF EXOSOMES
In clinic we offer the Exo-HL 200 billion exosome treatment derived from Edelweiss. This uniquely combines 1,250 growth factors with the 200 billion exosomes. It shows superior skin regeneration and tightening, and has strong anti-inflammatory action. It is clinically proven to be effective in melasma, eczema and rosacea. When used for hair regeneration it increases hair thickness, and converts the hair from dormant to growing phase (telogen to anagen) which makes the hair grow. Basically, it makes the hair grow and grow thicker!

What DR Lizzie thinks
I have been so very excited to offer this in my clinic! This is cutting edge regenerative medicine and the most high tech treatment I currently offer. All the clients I have treated so far have been so happy with the results, and without exception, after completing a full five treatment course are all coming back for regular maintenance treatments. I love them and the science behind them!
FAQs
-
Exosomes are tiny, naturally occurring particles released by stem cells that carry powerful growth factors, peptides, and genetic material. They act as messengers between cells, helping to repair and regenerate skin by boosting collagen, elastin, and hydration levels.
-
When applied or delivered into the skin (often following microneedling or RF microneedling), exosomes communicate with your skin cells to trigger natural healing and regeneration. They help calm inflammation, speed up recovery, and enhance collagen remodelling for healthier, more radiant skin.
-
Exosomes can help improve:
Fine lines and wrinkles
Uneven tone and texture
Acne scarring
Redness or irritation
Dullness and loss of glow
Skin barrier damage
Post-treatment healing and recovery
Hair growth, thickness and health

Accelerates skin healing and recovery after procedures
Enhances collagen and elastin production
Brightens and evens out skin tone
Reduces inflammation and redness

-
Exosomes are typically combined with advanced procedures such as microneedling, RF microneedling, or laser rejuvenation. The microchannels created in the skin allow exosomes to penetrate deeply, maximising their regenerative benefits.
-
Yes. The exosomes used in aesthetic treatments are sterile, purified, and derived from ethically sourced stem cells. They are completely cell-free, meaning there is no DNA or live tissue — only the regenerative growth factors that signal skin repair.
-
Discomfort is minimal. When combined with microneedling or similar treatments, a topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to ensure comfort throughout.
-
Downtime depends on the procedure they are combined with, but exosomes actually reduce recovery time. They help calm redness and sensitivity faster than standard healing, leaving the skin radiant and refreshed.
-
Skin often looks more hydrated and glowy within days. Over the following weeks, you’ll see continued improvement in texture, tone, and firmness as new collagen and elastin develop.
-
For optimal results, a course of 3–5 treatments spaced 3–4 weeks apart is recommended, with maintenance sessions every few months to sustain long-term skin health.
-
Yes. Exosomes enhance the results of many in-clinic procedures including microneedling, RF, laser, and polynucleotide therapy. Your practitioner will design a personalised plan based on your goals.
