Dermal fillers
Dermal fillers are a cornerstone of nonsurgical facial aesthetics, offering a minimally invasive solution to restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. Hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers are among the most widely used treatments in facial aesthetics. As a naturally occurring substance in the skin HA plays a critical role in maintaining hydration, elasticity and volume.
Expertly placed fillers compensate for lost fat pads and changes in bone remodelling. Some fillers are even bio-regenerative and increase the production of collagen in the skin. This helps restore the lost volume and return you to a youthful appearance.
“Dr Lizzie prides herself on her expertise in facial balancing and offering natural results.”
Hyaluronic acid has a unique ability to attract and retain water, making it ideal for restoring skin hydration and plumpness. When injected, HA fillers provide immediate volume and structure while also stimulating collagen production over time. Different formulations exist, ranging from soft, lightweight fillers for delicate areas like the lips and fine lines to denser, firmer gels for deeper structural support in the cheeks and jawline.
The body, overtime, gradually metabolises HA fillers with results typically lasting between 6 to 24 months. This is dependent on the product used, the area treated, and individual client factors such as metabolism and lifestyle.

Ultrasound Imaging & SAFETY
Ultrasound imaging is used with all dermal filler treatments in clinic. Ultrasound imaging is transforming aesthetics medicine by improving safety, accuracy, and treatment outcomes. Before any treatment your face will be imaged to map out large blood vessel placement and deeper structures in your face. This allows us to reduce risks of complications, vascular injury, and minimise the risk of bruising.
Although filler complications are rare, the most serious complication is vascular injury. To minimise this risk we are proud to always offer ultrasound image guided treatments. By using ultrasound imaging we are able to determine where the large blood vessels are in the face and reduce the risks of both bruising and complications.
Common Treatment Areas
Hyaluronic acid fillers are highly versatile and can be used in multiple facial areas to enhance features and restore useful appearance. Some of the most common treatment areas include:
A facial assessment is always recommended prior to treatment planning, as consideration for the face as a whole is always important. Treatment areas can include:
Lips – HA fillers can add volume, definition, and hydration, creating a naturally fuller look while smoothing fine lines around the mouth.
Smile Lines & Marionette Lines – Deep lines running from the nose to the mouth and from the mouth to the jawline can be softened for a more youthful appearance.
Cheeks – Loss of volume in the cheeks and the midface is one of the first signs of aging. HA fillers can restore this while lifting and contouring the cheeks.
Tear trough – HA fillers can reduce the appearance of under eye hollows and dark circles, restoring a youthful appearance to the delicate area around the eye.
Jawline & Chin - Contouring the lower face with HA fillers can create a more defined jawline and mask the appearance of jowling. It can also be used to improve facial symmetry and harmonise features.
Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty – HA fillers can reshape the nose by correcting minor bumps, lifting the tip, or improving nasal symmetry.

FAQs
-
Dermal fillers are injectable gels made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that attracts and retains moisture. They’re used to restore lost volume, enhance facial contours, smooth lines, and subtly rejuvenate the face without surgery.
-
Once injected, fillers add volume beneath the skin to lift and smooth specific areas such as the cheeks, lips, jawline, or under-eyes. Hyaluronic acid also stimulates hydration, improving skin texture and elasticity for a fresh, natural appearance.
-
Common areas include the lips, cheeks, nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines, jawline, chin, and tear troughs. Treatments can be tailored to balance facial proportions and restore youthful structure while maintaining your natural features.
-
When performed by a medical professional, dermal fillers are extremely safe. At Morris Aesthetics, all filler treatments are carried out by Dr Lizzie using medical-grade products from trusted, FDA-approved brands. Your anatomy and skin are carefully assessed to ensure precision, balance, and safety.
-
To enhance safety, Dr Lizzie uses ultrasound imaging where appropriate. This technology allows real-time visualisation of facial anatomy, blood vessels, and previous filler placement before and during treatment. It ensures precise injection placement and significantly reduces the risk of complications such as vascular occlusion.
-
Ultrasound adds an extra layer of safety and accuracy — allowing fillers to be placed with confidence while avoiding delicate vascular structures. It’s also used to check for old filler, assess treatment areas in detail, and support safe dissolving if needed.
-
A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand, and most fillers also contain lidocaine for comfort. You may feel slight pressure or a mild sting during injection, but discomfort is minimal and short-lived.
-
Results typically last between 6–18 months, depending on the treatment area, product used, and your individual metabolism. Regular maintenance helps preserve results.
-
You may experience mild swelling, redness, or tenderness for 24–48 hours, occasionally lasting a few days in more delicate areas. Most clients return to normal activities straight after treatment.
-
Results are visible immediately, though they continue to refine as any initial swelling settles — usually within 1–2 weeks, leaving a smooth and natural finish.
-
Yes. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be safely dissolved using hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down the filler. This may be used in rare cases of complications or if you wish to adjust your results.
